Saturday morning I sat for my exam to be able to join the National Association of Parliamentarians. Yes, you have to pass a test in order to JOIN the association. Fortunately it's only 100 questions (out of a test bank of 300 questions), so it wasn't too bad, although I have already learned a number of things I didn't know while preparing (like there really is such a thing as an adjourned meeting - I thought they made it up hehehe). I'll find out within a few weeks if I passed or not. I'm going on the assumption that I did (cause I'm optimistic that way). :)

You can find guides on "How to Establish & Organize a New IAAP Student Chapter" in the HQ library. In your search use key words "Student Chapter Guides" posted by Laura Giokas. it should take you directly to the info. Congratulations on wanting to establish a new student chapter and good luck.

I was thought not to break a person's name at the end of a sentence when writing a letter/memo. Nowadays, I see that as the trend in written correspondence from admin assistants.
Can anyone help me on that? I am from the old school andguess not moving with the times.
With the advent of MS Words, some rule of thumb in writing correspondence has gone through the door - (to many for the window).
